I was playing around with designs for a bag last week, and completely by surprise, came up with this pretty mandala!
I used my Red Heart Boutique Infinity yarn for this one, but it would work up so easily, and beautifully in any yarn. I plan to starch this, so I can hang it on my daughters bedroom wall...she's a bit of a purple fiend ;) Follow me for the free pattern, to make your own~ |
10 Point Mandala Crochet Pattern
Materials Used: Red Heart Boutique Infinity yarn in Enchanted Size K/10 (6.50mm) crochet hook Size/Gauge: Gauge is not important to this project. Finished model measures approximately 10" across. *Note~if you use different yarn and hook size, you will have a different finished size. Also, one skein of Infinity yarn is enough to make several mandalas! Stitches Used/Abbreviations: Ch-chain Rnd-round Sc-single crochet Hdc-half double crochet Dc-double crochet Trc-triple (or treble) crochet Sl st-slip stitch |
Rnd 1: With CA, ch 2. Work 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (10 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work 2 sc in each st around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. *Work 3 dc in next st. Skip 1 st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (30 sts, or 10 “clusters“)
Rnd 4: ch 1. Working between the clusters for this rnd, *dc, 3 trc, dc*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (50 sts)
Rnd 5: Sl st over to the 2nd trc. Ch 1. Sc in top of center trc. Ch 5. *Skip next 4 sts. Sc in top of next center trc. Ch 5*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (10 sts + 10 ch 5 spaces)
Rnd 6: ch 1. *Sc in sc st. Work {2 dc, trc, ch 1. sl st in top of trc just worked, trc, 2 dc} in next ch 5 space*. Repeat (*) around. Join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
