Posies Headband~FREE Pattern

Recently, I received some fun new yarns to play with, from Red Heart. One of those yarns was the Anne Geddes Baby Yarn.

It is so soft, and nice to work with! I designed a new baby set with it~the Pocketful of Posies Set, which includes a dress, and sweet little sandals, but decided at the last minute, that it needed a little something else.

I came across another one of my older designs today, that I had retired~the first Easter Basket I made for my little guy (which he still has!)

I love the look of this basket, and the fact that you can change out the colors easily, to make it suitable for any holiday decorating, so I have decided to offer this one to you as a free holiday pattern!

I hope you enjoy it as much as my little monster boy does ;)

A Beginner's Guide to GAUGE...

I see a lot of questions in the groups I am in, about gauge...What IS gauge? Why do I have to "match gauge"? How do I know if my gauge is right? Is gauge even important?

So, let's take a little look at gauge! First of all~What IS gauge? Well~ the technical meaning is "the number of stitches/rows to the inch". This means how many stitches do we need to create, to make it measure 1 inch long, or how many rows do we need to complete to make it measure 1 inch high? This number can change, depending on LOTS of different things. What size is your hook? What size is your yarn? How is your tension~loose, tight, in-between? What stitch are you doing?

Omigosh! Have you all tried the new Red Heart Boutique Sassy Fabric yet?? It is SO MUCH FUN!

I recently received a package of yarns from Red Heart, to review, and try out for new designs...I was understandably excited when I opened the package~Who wouldn't be? Well, tucked in with all these yummy yarns was this flat package of fabric...What on EARTH is this for?? It feels nice~light and airy...kind of a sheer, gauzy fabric, with little oval shaped holes along the top edge, and a scalloped edge on the bottom. Well~I was at a loss at that moment, so I set it aside, and went back to drooling over the yarn.

Something Pretty This Way Comes...

With all the Grand Re-Opening and giveaway excitement earlier in the week, I never got the chance to post my sneak preview of a new design coming out...It's so pretty!

I think you will be pleasantly surprised to find that this one is made in baby weight yarn, too! That's a little outside my normal, and I thoroughly enjoyed working on this design. In fact, it is the first in an new mini-line, as I already have a second one underway.

There will also be a new FREE pattern coming to you, as soon as our weather clears up, and I am able to get some decent pictures for you. I have so many exciting new designs lined up for the very near future, so I hope you will stay tuned for details~and, of course, more giveaways!
