Pattern Section:
Rnd 1: *ch 3. Skip the next 3 sts. Hdc in each of the next 3 sts*. Repeat (*) around. Join.
Rnd 2: ch 1. *Work 5 hdc in next ch 3 space. Skip next st. Hdc in next st. Skip next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join.
Repeat rnds 1-2 until approximately ½“ before finished desired length is reached. (Use sizing guide for suggested sizes.) Go to Brim.
Brim:
Rnd 1: ch 1. Fphdc in each st around. Join.
Rnd 2: ch 1. *Skip next st. Work 3 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join.

Color Bands:
Using a contrasting color, ch 40(52,64,76,88). Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, and each remaining ch. Fasten off, leaving a tail.
Make 1 color band for each row of “holes”, adding 3 chs to the length of each consecutive band, to allow for a better fit on the head. Weave 1 color band through the holes of each row, beginning with the shortest one in the top row, and ending with the longest one in the bottom row, and using the tail to tie the ends together.
Bow:
Ch 2. Work {1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 trc, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 hdc, sl st} all in 2nd ch from hook. (First side of bow created) Ch 1. Work {1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 trc, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 hdc, sl st} all in same ch as previous sts were worked. (Second side of bow created) Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Wrap tail 2-3 times around center of bow, and tie tightly in back. (Center wrap of bow created)
Make 1 Bow for each row of color bands, to coordinate, and fasten them securely to each row.
