My daughter recently celebrated her birthday! She is my fox lover, who is also currently obsessed with headbands and earwarmers of all types, and I recently purchased some Lion Brand Go for Faux yarn...It's the gift that was meant to be!
So, if you have 30 minutes (give or take), grab your Go for Faux (If you don't have any GO GET SOME! You won't be sorry!) and follow me for the softest, warmest, fastest earwarmer you can make! |
Faux Fur Earwarmer
Crochet Pattern Materials Used: 25-30 yds of Lion Brand Go for Faux yarn Size K/10 1/2 (6.50mm) crochet hook Small amounts of scrap yarn for hearts Size G/6 (4.25mm) crochet hook for hearts Size/Gauge: One size fits most Teen/Adults. To adjust the size, simply add or subtract chains to your beginning chain, to obtain the desired size. Stitches Used/Abbreviations: ch-chain rnd-round sc-single crochet hdc-half double crochet dc-double crochet sl st-slip st Magic Circle-Make a large loop by putting the yarn tail behind the working yarn (the yarn coming from the skein), leaving at least a six-inch tail until you become familiar with this method. With your hook, draw the working yarn through the loop, so you have one loop on the hook. Now, you can start working your stitches in the ring, just as you would with the chain method. You will pull the tail tight, once all stitches are worked in the ring, leaving a nice, tight closure. |
~Don't rely on being able to see your stitches! You'll pretty much have to feel for them...
~Either side can be the "right" side, but you'll notice that it's a little fluffier on the "wrong" side, so I turned mine inside out...
~If you must frog~I found it easy to do! This yarn doesn't tangle or fray like other yarns...
~This yarn is VERY good at hiding those "misplaced" stitches, so don't worry about them!
Earwarmer:

With G hook, and scrap yarn, create a magic circle. Ch 2. Work {3 dc, 3 hdc, 2 sc} in ring. Ch 2. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Work {2 sc, 3 hdc, 3 dc} in ring. Ch 2. Sl st in ring. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Pull ring tight to close, and tie it off with the sewing tail for security.
Use a yarn needle to stitch hearts in desired positions on your earwarmer. Weave in ends. You are done!
