Create all of your motifs. Lay them out in the pattern pictured here, and stitch them together, by placing 2 motifs at a time, with right sides together, and using your preferred method of joining. For the model, I slip stitched through the BLO of each motif to join them. Place 1 double layer motif in the center, and stitch 1 single layer motif to each of 5 sides. Stitch the single layer motifs together, on the side that touches another motif.
After all front side pieces are stitched together, place the second double layer motif on top of the first one, with right sides together. Fold single motifs in half to meet the double layer motif, one at a time, and stitch together, where sides meet.
