
When the weather turns hot, we start thinking about the beach again...And with thoughts of the beach, I get thoughts of~HOW am I going to carry everything?
Here is one solution to that problem~the Just Beachy Beverage Sling! I can make several in different colors, and then no ones drinks get mixed up this summer!

Materials Used:
Worsted weight yarn, in your choice of colors (Model uses a variety of Red Heart yarns~Super Saver, Gumdrop, etc...)
Size I/9 (5.50mm) crochet hook
Size/Gauge:
Gauge is not important to this project, but model measures approximately 8" tall, without handle. Will fit most standard water bottles.
Stitches Used/Abbreviations:
Ch-chain
Rnd-round
Sc-single crochet
Hdc-half double crochet
Sl st-slip stitch
Instructions:
Bag:
Rnd 1: With Color A, ch 2. Work 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (10 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work 2 hdc in each st around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. *Hdc in next st, work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (30 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 1. *Hdc in each of the next 2 sts, work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (40 sts)
Rnd 5: ch 1. *Hdc in next st. Work {hdc, ch 2, hdc} in next st. Hdc in next st. Skip next 2 sts*. Repeat (*) around. Join.
Rnds 6-7: ch 1. Work 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc in each ch 2 space around. Join. Drop Color A (do NOT cut), join Color B, at end of rnd 7.
Rnd 8: ch 1. Work 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc in each ch 2 space around. Join. Drop Color B, pick up Color A.
Rnds 9-11: ch 1. Work 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc in each ch 2 space around. Join. Drop Color A (do NOT cut), join Color B, at end of rnd 11.
Rnd 12: ch 1. Work 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc in each ch 2 space around. Join. Fasten off Color B, pick up Color A.
Rnds 13-15: ch 1. Work 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc in each ch 2 space around. Join.
Rnd 16: ch 1. Work 3 sc in each ch 2 space around. Join. DO NOT FASTEN OFF. Go directly to Strap.
Strap:
Ch 36 (For a longer strap, ch more). Sl st in st directly across from start of ch. Sl st in next st on bag. Ch 1, TURN. Hdc in each ch, back to beginning. Sl st in next st on bag. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Starfish: (I made 1 with an I hook, and 1 with a G hook)
Rnd 1: ch 2. Work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join.
Rnd 2: *Ch 8. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in next ch. Sc in each of the next 2 chs. Hdc in each of the next 3 chs. Sl st in next st on base*. Repeat (*) 4 more times, for a total of 5 legs. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Using a yarn needle, sew your starfish in desired position(s) on bag.
