  | I recently received a package of yummy yarns from Red Heart to play with and review...I've got to say, I am LOVING all of their new yarns! When I saw the bright skein of Head's Up yarn, I KNEW it would be perfect for a project I had in mind for my 8 yr. old daughter. It is so soft, and bulky(it's a #5 Bulky yarn), and WARM! It's called Head's Up, but it works beautifully for SO much more than hats and headwear~Take a look at what I made with mine~ |
After the frigid temperatures of last winter, I decided to be very prepared this year! Living in the South, you just don't expect that~lol. So I have designed a pair of VERY WARM and very soft mittens for my kids~Enjoy!

Instructions:
Rnd 1: ch 2. Work 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (10 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work 2 hdc in each st around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. *Fpdc around next st, hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 1, TURN. Sc in each st around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnd 5: ch 1, TURN. *Fpdc around next post st, 2 rows below. Hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnds 6-13: Continue repeating rnds 4-5, in order.
Rnd 14: (Creating thumb hole) ch 5, TURN. Skip next 5 sts. Sc in each remaining st around. Join. (15 sc+5 chs)
