With our newest mask mandates in place, I can't help but think of ways to make it all fun...So, I came up with a friendly reminder! He's super quick and easy to make, and a fun way to remember to "Mask Up!" I'll be using this one as a keychain, but I'm also making more, in different colors, to hang on our tree this year ;) Follow me for the free pattern~ |
Emoji: (Stuff as you go)
Rnd 1: ch 2. Work 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with a sl st to 1st st. (8 sts)
Rnd 2: ch1. Work 2 sc in each st around. Join. (16 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. *Sc in next st. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (24 sts)
Rnds 4-6: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. (24 sts)
Rnd 7: ch 1. *Sc in next st. Sc2tog*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (16 sts)
Rnd 8: ch 1. Sc2tog, 8 times. Join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for weaving. Use a yarn needle to weave through final sts. Draw tight to close. Bring remainder of tail up through center of ball, and out the middle of rnd 1. Create a hanging loop. Weave in ends.
Mask:
Row 1: ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, and each remaining ch. (5 sts)
Row 2: ch 1, TURN. Sc in each st across. (5 sts)
Row 3: ch 1, TURN. Sc in each st across. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembly:
Use a yarn needle to sew mask to emoji, at about rnds 4-6. Mask sure you don't forget the strings on the sides!
Use a yarn needle, and black yarn to stitch on whichever expression you like. Weave in all ends.
