Miniature Santa Gnome Christmas Ornament
Crochet Pattern Materials Used: Small scraps of worsted weight yarn, in Dark Red, White, Black, and a snip of fleshtone Size G/6 (4.50mm) crochet hook Small amount of stuffing Yarn needle Size/Gauge: Gauge is not important to this project! Finished model measures 3.5” tall. You can use any yarn and hook size to create a wider range of finished sizes. Gnome Base:
Rnd 1: With White, ch 2. Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. *Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (8 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. Sc2tog, 4 times Join. (4 sts) Fasten off White. Join Red.
Rnd 4: ch 1. Work 2 sc in each st around. Join. (8 sts)
Rnd 5: ch 1. *Sc in each of the next 3 sts. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (10 sts)

Hat Brim:

Arms: (Make 2)
Rnd 1: With Black, ch 2. Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. (6 sts) Fasten off Black. Join Red.
Rnd 3: ch 1. Working in BLO for this entire rnd, sc in each st around. Join. (6 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 1. Working in both loops again, sc in each st around. Join. (6 sts) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Nose:
With Fleshtone, ch 2. Work 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Beard:
With White, ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Work 2 hdc in next ch. Work 3 dc in next ch. Work 2 hdc in next ch. Sc in last ch. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembly:
Place Nose on front side of body, right under the brim of the hat, and stitch in place.
Fit Beard around, and under Nose, and stitch in place.
Place one arm on either side of body, at rnd 9/10 (just under the brim of the hat) and stitch in place.
Cut a short length (about 3-4”) of yarn to create a hanging loop. Stitch your loop to the top of the hat. Weave in all your ends, and you are done!
