Crochet Pattern Materials Used: 50-60 yds. Lion Brand Mandala Fluffy yarn (Model created with Fire Goby) Size K/10 1/2 (6.50mm) crochet hook Small amounts of worsted weight yarn for features Size G/6 (4.25mm) crochet hook for features Stuffing Yarn needle Size/Gauge: Gauge is not important to this project. Instructions: *Please note~When creating the Head/Body of my buddy, I turned the piece inside out before starting the legs, so there was more fibery goodness on the outside. After assembly, I brushed my buddy with a soft bristle brush.)
Head/Body: (Stuff as you go)
Rnd 1: With K hook, and fluffy yarn, ch 2. Work 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (8 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work 2 sc in each st around. Join. (16 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. *Sc in next st. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (24 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 1. *Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (32 sts)
Rnds 5-13: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. (32 sts)
Rnd 14: ch 1. Sc in each of the next 16 sts. Skip the last 16 sts. Join. (16 sts)
Rnd 15: ch 1. *Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Sc2tog*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (12 sts)
Rnd 16: ch 1. *Sc in next st. Sc2tog*. Repeat (*) around. Join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for weaving. Weave tail through final sts, and draw tight to close.
Rejoin yarn at 1st skipped stitch of rnd 14. Ch 1. Sc in each of the 16 skipped sts. Join. (16 sts)
Repeat rnds 15-16 to complete second leg.
Eyes: (Make 2)
Rnd 1: With G hook, and Black worsted weight yarn, ch 2. Work 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (8 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work 2 sc in each st around. Join. (16 sts) Fasten off Black. Join Iris color.
Rnd 3: ch 1. Sc in next st. Work 2 sc in next st. Hdc in next st. Work 2 hdc in each of the next 3 sts. Hdc in next st. Work 2 sc in next st. Sc in next st. Sl st in next st. (14 sts) Fasten off Iris color. Join White.
Rnd 4: ch 1. *Sc in next st. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. If desired, place a few stitches in the iris/pupil section to create a gleam.
Horn: (Stuff before stitching on)
Rnd 1: With G hook and worsted weight yarn, ch 2. Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. DO NOT JOIN. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: Working in BLO from here on, *Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Work 2 sc in next st*, 2 times. DO NOT JOIN. (8 sts)
Rnd 3: Sc in each of the next 8 sts. DO NOT JOIN. (8 sts)
