I posted the Materials List for this project the other day. I will include it again here, though :) The beauty of this project is it's a GREAT stash buster! If you have little balls of leftover yarn from other projects, you can use them up on this one, so go grab the scrap bag, and let's get going!
Materials Used:
Worsted weight yarn
Size H/8 (5.00mm) crochet hook
Small amount of stuffing
Size/Gauge:
Gauge is not important to this project.
Stitches Used/Abbreviations:
Ch-chain
Rnd-round
Sc-single crochet
Sc2tog-single crochet 2 stitches together
Hdc-half double crochet
Bphdc-back post half double crochet~half double crochet stitches are worked around the back of the post of indicated stitch(es)
Sl st-slip stitch
Part 1: Base
Rnd 1: ch 2. Work 8 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. (8 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1, TURN. Work 2 hdc in each st around. Join. (16 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1, TURN. *Hdc in next st. Work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (24 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 1, TURN. *Hdc in each of the next 2 sts. Work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (32 sts)
Rnd 5: ch 1, TURN. *Hdc in each of the next 3 sts. Work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (40 sts)
Rnd 6: ch 1, TURN. *Hdc in each of the next 4 sts. Work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (48 sts)
Rnd 7: ch 1, TURN. *Hdc in each of the next 5 sts. Work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (56 sts)
Rnd 8: ch 1, TURN. *Hdc in each of the next 6 sts. Work 2 hdc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (64 sts) If you are changing colors for the next section, fasten off, and join new color now. Otherwise, continue on.
