But, my flowers seem to have taken on a more "oceanic" look, and my color scheme seems to have a Mardi Gras feel...And I LOVE it! How fun to be able to mix and match 4 different flower styles on a simple, buttoned hairband, to create many different looks! One size will fit most heads from Child through Adult, too! Simply Versatile Tropical Hairband
Crochet Pattern Materials Used: Worsted weight yarn, in your choice of colors Size H/8 (5.00mm) crochet hook 1" button Yarn needle Stitches Used/Abbreviations: ch-chain rnd-round sc-single crochet hdc-half double crochet dc-double crochet trc-triple (or treble) crochet sl st-slip stitch |
Hairband:
Row 1: ch 61. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, and each remaining ch. (60 sts)
Row 2: ch 5t, TURN (Buttonhole created) Skip all 5 chs, and 1st st. Dc in 2nd st. Dc in each of the next 2 sts. Dc AROUND all 3 dc sts just created. *Skip 1 st. Dc in each of the next 3 sts. Dc AROUND all 3 dc sts just created*. Repeat (*) across.
Row 3: ch 1, TURN. Sc in each st across. Fasten off. Weave in ends. (60 sts)
Place a button at the opposite end of buttonhole, and stitch in place.
Flower A: (Shown as Yellow)
Rnd 1: ch 2. *Hdc, ch 1* in 2nd ch from hook, 6 times. Join. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work {1 Bobble, sc, 1 Bobble} in each ch 1 space around. Join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Flower B: (Shown as Purple)
ch 6. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, and each reamining ch. 8Ch 5. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, and each of the next 3 chs. Sl st in beginning ch*, 4 times, for a total of 5 "arms". Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Flower C: (Shown as Orange)
*Ch 5. Sl st in 5th ch from hook*, 5 times. Fasten off. Weave in ends. (This one is easiest to just use the ends to tie onto your project.)
Flower D: (Shown as Dark Pink)
Rnd 1: ch 2. *Sc, ch 2* in 2nd ch from hook, 5 times. Join. (5 sts, 5 ch 2 spaces)
Rnd 2: *Sl st into next ch 2 space. Ch 3. Trc in same ch 2 space. Ch 1. Sl st in top of trc just made. Ch 3. Sl st into same ch 2 space*. Repeat (*) around. Join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Assembly:
Create as many of each flower as desired, and sew them firmly in place in desired positions on hair band. Weave in all ends.
